English Language Learners (ELL)

The ELL Program serves the needs of students whose native language is not English and who have not yet reached a level of English proficiency that is necessary to succeed in regular courses taught in unmodified English. English language learners are tested and placed into the program and are classified according to English language ability as beginning, intermediate, developing, or advanced.

Classes prefaced with an ELL are limited to those students who have been identified as having limited English Language ability. Testing is available for children entering the NHACS program who have had limited English exposure. Students with Limited English Proficiency will be provided with pull-out class support and in class assistance depending on their ability level and progress.
